Alex Paxton

Alex Paxton leads the urban water program, developing partnerships, strategy, and grantmaking programs to advance equitable urban resilience. Prior to joining the Water Foundation in 2014, Alex worked for over a decade on redevelopment, community displacement mitigation, workforce development, and urban sustainability for a range of employers including Los Angeles Unified School District, then-LA City Councilmember Eric Garcetti, Mayors James Hahn and Antonio Villaraigosa, the LA City Community Redevelopment Agency, the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation, and Estolano LeSar Perez Advisors. Alex received a B.A. in American studies, an MFA in theater management, a law degree from Yale University, and an M.S. in social anthropology from University College London.
