"I’m an urban kid, who loves the woods.
While I have spent most of my life living and working in densely populated metropolitan areas, where thought is often not given to water beyond what is (or is not) coming out of the tap, there is little I love more than following the trail to a pristine lake, a hidden waterfall, or a quiet mountain stream. After decades of working in the environmental field, I know that no one resource is more precious to everyone than fresh water, whether we are talking about drinking water for school children and their families, irrigation for farmers across the country, salmon fishing for communities and tribes, or the conservation of wildlife and wild places for nature lovers like myself. That resource is ours to protect and manage."
