The Water Foundation, drawing on its expertise and recent work by River Network and the US Water Alliance, has developed a safe drinking water guide for philanthropy. We need bold experimentation and fact-based interventions to secure safe drinking water. These areas speak to some of philanthropy’s greatest strengths. While some foundations are working on drinking water, the issue continues to be a blind spot for many grantmakers. As a result, the scale of funding is small compared to the size of the problem. This guide can help deepen understanding of urgent drinking water threats and promising solutions. Therefore, we offer this resource as an invitation for expanded collaboration and investment.
