Andrew Fahlund provides leadership and direction on federal clean water policy and is engaged in efforts protect and restore watersheds throughout the western US, including the Sacramento-San Joaquin River and Delta, Columbia and Snake Rivers, and the Rio Grande. Andrew works closely with Water Foundation staff and partners to evaluate needs and opportunities, craft strategy, and develop and execute campaigns on behalf of people and nature.
Before joining the Water Foundation, Andrew was the executive director of the Water in the West program at Stanford University and worked for 15 years in the Washington, DC, office of American Rivers, serving as senior vice president for conservation. Andrew received an MS in Natural Resource Policy from the University of Michigan, School of Natural Resources and Environment and a BA in Anthropology from Colorado College. He chairs the board of directors for River Network. Andrew likes to fish, paddle, hike, and ski. He lives in Davis, CA with his wife, son, and dog.
