Water Foundation applauds Governor Brown for making water a top priority in his final State of the State

SACRAMENTO — Today, Governor Brown offered his final State of the State address. We applaud the governor for making water a top priority in the last year of his administration: “Along with clean air, clean water is a fundamental good that must be protected and made available on a sustainable basis. When droughts occur, conservation measures become imperative.”

Consistent with the actions taken in his recently released budget, the governor understands that it is unconscionable that upwards of a million Californians struggle every day to provide water their families can drink. In addition, California can be more efficient with the water it does have – making our incredible strides on water conservation during the drought a way of life. We look forward to working closely with the governor and the Legislature to secure solutions on both of these issues in the coming months.
