The Water Foundation issued the following statement today:

“We condemn the murders of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and Tony McDade. We stand with protesters demanding an end to police violence, racism, and discrimination. We believe Black lives matter. We also stand with the journalists who are covering the protests against police brutality and are essential to democracy.

“In the United States, racism and white supremacy infect every system necessary to live safely and with dignity, including healthcare, housing, water, education, civil and criminal justice, and much more. It is our collective responsibility, as advocates for water, as funders, as parents, as neighbors, and as humans, to speak out against and dismantle white supremacy in all of the ways it is ingrained in our lives and work. It is our collective responsibility to listen to and support Black communities to achieve equity and justice. It is our collective responsibility to build a country where everyone can live and breathe freely.”
